Gemma at The Africa Specialists was terrific! She created an individualized travel plan for us to Tanzania including a stay in Zanzibar, a safari in the Selous Game Park and an incredible stay in a Maasai village. All the travel arrangements worked out perfectly and we can't say enough about using this company. It was truly a 'trip of a lifetime'!!!

I travelled to Tanzania with Tanzania Specialists in late August 2014. Nicks organisation was faultless throughout - helpful, prompt, efficient. I visited two parks: Katavi and Mahale Mountains. In Katavi I stayed in two camps: Katavi Wildlife Camp (7 nights) and Palahala (3 nights). Katavi Wildlife Camp was very good in every respect, i.e. comfort, food, service. What lifted it from the merely very good to excellent was the presence of Nick Greaves who, in my many years of travelling in Africa, was the best guide I have come across. His knowledge was astonishing, drawing on years of experience - all delivered with modesty and sensitivity. He made a huge difference to my enjoyment of my stay. Overall I found the quantity of animals did not quite live up to its billing as outstanding for wildlife, but this may have been because I was a little too early for the dry season to advance and force the animals to congregate around the vanishing sources of water. The absence of animals was particularly acute at Palahala Camp. Game drives from there resulted in very few sightings. A lot of driving and not very much to see. The camp itself is O.K. but there was a lack of attention to detail and a lot of small things could have been corrected at very little cost. I tacked on Mahale Mountains almost as an afterthought, but I am very pleased I went there. Kungwe Lodge (4 nights) ranks as one of the very best places I have stayed, anywhere. Everything was superlative and could not be faulted by even the most critical guest. Tracking and viewing chimps was a wonderful experience. I was fortunate in that it was not necessary to walk long distances to find the chimps at that time of year and one afternoon they even came into the camp. I saw chimps every day during my walks. It is possible to get very close to them, and they take no notice of you at all! A great experience.

We booked our Honeymoon through Nick in September 2014 and we could not have had a better experience. We chose a safari in various locations in Tanzania and then a week on the beach in Zanzibar. From initial contact with Nick, right through to us getting on the plane, he answered every question, every email and every phone call straight away and nothing was too much trouble. Tanzania Specialists catered to our every whim. We changed our minds a lot with regards to camps, resorts and lodges, and Nick was constantly trying to get us the best deal that he could. He was very patient! Our Honeymoon was perfect. There's no other word to describe it. Every little detail was mapped out and timed perfectly. It worked out that we eventually ended up making more than 10 flights, including internal and international, and not one plane was delayed, not one driver was late and the service was impeccable. We would not change a thing. The lodge and camps on safari were amazing and the resort in Zanzibar was pure paradise. The food, drivers, staff and guides were incomparable. A little about our trip....We began our trip in Tarangire, staying for one night at Olivers Camp. We then drove up through Tarangire the next day and on to Lake Manyara National Park. For our second night we stayed at the Plantation Lodge for two nights. This included a full day game driving in the Ngorongoro Crater. We then travelled to northern Serengeti for 4 nights at Nomads Serengeti camp. This is where we saw one of the highlights of our trip - a Great Migration River Crossing of thousands of Wildebeest. Plus a few Elephant crossings which were apparently quite rare. The sights and animals we saw were out of this world, a dream come true for both of us. We then flew to Ras Nungwi Resort in Zanzibar for 7 nights of pure luxury in a beach side lodge! We also experienced our first time diving here. All in all we wouldn't have changed a single part of our Honeymoon; it was perfect, (until of course we had to go home). Thank you so much to everyone at The Tanzania Specialists for giving us memories we will never forget. We would recommend you to anyone and we hope to travel again with you in the future!James & Helena Darbyshire

Hugely indebted to Nick for a wonderful honeymoon, spent in Tanzania (Selous Reserve) & Mozambique (Guludo). Very much a tailored experience to our wishes, with invaluable insight into the regions beyond expectation. When I mentioned the wish to explore Northern Mozambique, instantaneously knew Guludo would suit us perfectly. Promptly answered and resolved any queries, even when we were on the trip itself.Wonderful trip, glow with reference to locations, particularly Guludo, an amazing beach-side lodge, beautiful water, fantastic diving, brilliant food and of course felt extremely welcomed by the community.Cannot recommend more highly! Certain to use again.
